One of the good things about battling with a larger pokemon is that they are usually somewhat slow. With this in mind, Pie was able to calculate his own moves faster and more versatile. Unfortunately, he was not able to escape this comet punch completely. Once he saw it coming, he flew upwards as quickly as he could, but the other pokemon's fist connected with one of the Pidgey's feet, knocking him out of balance.

Th bird started to flutter down to the ground, pain shooting through his leg. It looked ok (not mangled or anything) but it hurt to put any pressure on it. He jumped off of his one good leg and took to the sky. Looks like flying was his only option right now.

With a grunt, he used his wings to stir up a sand attack, followed quickly with a tackle this time to the larger pokemon's legs, hoping to have it loose its balance.
